RAKSUMMER in the City

AUGUST 28–31, BUDAPEST, HUNGARY
(Final day: Day trip to Nagymaros–Visegrád)

Join me for 3 and a half beautiful days together in Budapest, filled with:
? Intensive dance classes & workshops with me
?️ Inspiring city activities & time to unwind
?? A Hafla where the stage is ours – and yours
? A special dance video shoot – a behind-the-scenes “werk” movie and a performance video!
? Day trip to the Danube bend – swimming, food and culture

I’m offering 12 hours of intensive classes in a small and intimate group setting. While we immerse in movement and creativity, we will learn a brand new choreography that blends classic Egyptian style with contemporary elements.
Meanwhile, I’ll also be your guide through the Budapest I know and love.

By the end of the weekend, we’ll perform and record the group choreography together during our festive hafla – a celebration of what we’ve created. Every participant is welcomed to perform their solo as well!

On our first workshop on Saturday, our video team (Afilm) will start filming a behind-the-scenes style werk video, capturing the creative energy of the process.

To close our journey, we’ll take a relaxing day trip to Nagymaros–Visegrád, surrounded by nature and historic beauty.

And of course, the most important element of this experience is YOU – there will be a personalized feedback chat on our farewell breakfast to support your growth and expression.

AUGUST 28, THURSDAY:

15:00–15:45: Introductory session – arrival at the venue, getting to know each other, registration

16:00–18:30: Workshop 1: CONTRAST TECHNIQUE

• intensive dance training and drills
• hip-focused isolations and fluid upper-body movements
• ACCENT & FLOW combinations with varying intensity: one to drum solo music and one to an arab pop music

18:30: Bazaar (Egyptian scarves, veils, costumes)

AUGUST 29, FRIDAY:

10:00–12:30: Workshop 2: MUSICALITY and the GOLDEN ERA

• dancing with the violin and using special rhythms: Oriental tango
• what does the Golden Era mean in dance and music?
• analyzing innovative classical composers in dance: Mohamed Abdel Wahab

• elements from the new choreography

Lunch

14:00–16:30: Workshop 3: DRAMATURGY and COMBINATIONS

• how to create choreography

• possibilities of storytelling and expression in classical Egyptian songs

• creative use of related art forms
• new combinations from our choreography

16:30: Bazaar (Egyptian scarves, veils, costumes)

AUGUST 30, SATURDAY – “LAB DAY”:

10:00–12:30: Workshop 4: “MALISH AMAL”

• new choreography – instrumental section: unique rhythms and instrumental dialogue

• layered combinations

• tools for interpreting music and story

• perfecting a unique and personal performance style, connecting with audience

14:00–16:30: Workshop 5: CHOREOGRAPHY COLLAB with the AFILM team

• finishing and practicing our new choreography
• dance film shooting: essentials, possibilities, practice
• creative co-creation session

19:00: Hafla!

AUGUST 31, SUNDAY:

10:00–11:30: Farewell breakfast with personalized feedback and reflections

12:00–18:00: Excursion to the Danube Bend (Nagymaros–Visegrád) with lunch, swimming, castle visit, and relaxation (optional program)

VIP: 50 € or 20.000 HUF / workshop (2.5 hrs)
